Sathaye<\/strong> graduated from Seth G.S. medical college and K.E.M. hospital (Mumbai) in Ophthalmology and set foot in Jamnagar to head the Ophthalmology department at the then Irwin Hospital, before independence. After a few years he set up his <strong>eye hospital at Teen Batti chowk of Jamnagar city in 1946<\/strong>. Within a very short span of time he became immensely popular in and around the city for his excellent surgical skills and very humane approach. With a vision to provide quality eye care to the society, he maintained a special focus on diseases of the posterior segment for which patients had to rush out of Jamnagar.
